About

a daydreamer's journey...

As a child, I spent endless idle hours concocting adventures, often while perched in the crook of a tree on my family’s farm in rural Minnesota. The shadowy woods on our property provided an endless source of mystery and inspiration. These days, the rugged back-country of my Colorado home fills that niche. Tree-climbing has long been abandoned in favor of hammock swinging, but as often as is practical, my husband and I like to spend time RVing and exploring wilderness trails on our UTV.

Though my journey has often resembled a meandering trail, I’ve never been short on daydreams and unique ideas. They are key elements in any writer’s toolbox. When I began writing for publication in the late 1980s, I was pleased to have a number of my inspirational articles and stories published in a variety of Christian magazines. I wrote inspirational skits and holiday plays, even serving as director for a few that were performed by my church.

More often, though, my writing skills were employed in more practical ways – as the marketing director of a small corporation and for a variety of Christian organizations I’ve supported over the years. I have no regrets about these diversions. I’ve learned that unplanned journeys often yield unexpected blessings.

Until recent years, novel-length fiction seemed an elusive goal. Then, my debut novel, Point Blank, earned first place honors in the suspense/thriller category of ACFW’s Genesis contest for aspiring novelists. Today, I’m delighted to have more opportunity to develop my stories, and I’m always eager to explore the new places my characters might take me.
